Pursuant to the "Regulation Amending the Regulation on Procedures and Principles of Occupational Health and Safety Training of Employees" published in the Official Gazette dated 24 May 2018 and numbered 30430, "The employer of the workplace receiving practical training is responsible for the training and informing of apprentices and trainees. However, occupational health and safety courses or courses completed by the apprentice and trainees in the training and apprentices' training shall replace the basic training if the employer accepts." From the relevant article, it is understood that the internship should provide training to the students who do internship, and that these courses can replace basic education for the students who take occupational health and safety courses.
However, in practice, employers refrain from the obligation of education and demand students to bring training certificates. YTU Occupational Health and Safety Coordinatorship will organize trainings for the students who will do internships in order to prevent the victims from becoming victims. The first of these trainings is presented below.
Our Agency recommends that all students, especially those who plan to do internships in the summer, participate in these trainings in order not to suffer in the workplace.
